The Brooklyn-based hip-hop collective that defies just about every stereotype and limit of the genre has released their first major project, three years in the making.  The result: 13 eloquent tracks that weave jazz, rock, funk, R&B, soul and hip-hop influences.  Their content is a focused breath of fresh air; the group speaks meaningfully on the state of hip-hop and the music industry at large.  But they don’t stop there, the classic messages of love and life are treated thoughtfully as well with a refreshingly low-key approach.  While their themes are personal, they aren’t overly confined, and the difficulties they discuss are those to which anyone can relate.

The nine members flow in and out seamlessly, each bringing a unique, talented perspective and persona to the mic.  The group is multi-talented, acting as their own band and production crew in addition to songwriting.
